Stepping out for guide dogs
THE Irish Guide Dogs
for the Blind charity is asking communities in
Inishowen to participate in their nationwide annual
family dog walk next month.
Supported by Irish sporting legend, Sonia
OíSullivan, the organisation hopes to raise Ä50,000
for those who are visually impaired and families of
children with autism.
Several families and individuals in Inishowen and
the wider county have described how their loyal
dogs, provided by the charity, have transformed
Money will be raised through sponsorship, a
recommended Ä5 entrance fee on the day and items for
sale, including Drontal high visibility bands. The
bands have been approved by the Road Safety
Authority and can be used again and again.

The annual event will take place at 3pm on Sunday
July 15, 2012. To join a walk in your area visit
or alternatively you can organise a walk in your
area. Simply register your event and IGDB will send
you an organiser's pack and add your walk to their
website. Participants can also download a
sponsorship card for the event online.
