LABOUR councillor
Martin Farren has confirmed that €30,000 is to be
made available to carry out improvements on the main
Moville to Greencastle road.
The area set for an upgrade, stretches from the
Market Square to the bottom of the Ballynally Lane -
a section that has been in some disrepair for a
number of years.
“I would like to thank
Donegal County Council for taking my concerns on
board. It is something which needs to be carried out
and I hope that work can begin in the very near
future,” Cllr. Farren said.
Meanwhile, he also revealed that road works in the
centre of Moville town are set to begin in the next
two or three weeks.
The news comes after Farren had earlier consulted
with the local authority's roads design team a
number of months ago.
Works at the junction
at the bottom of the Malin Road in Moville will see
two metres removed from the pavement to widen the
corner for drivers.
There are also plans to take away a parking spot
below Bonner’s Corner in the town, giving motorists
turning right a much clearer view of oncoming
traffic up the hill.
Cllr Farren is also currently seeking improved
pedestrian crossings for the people of Moville.
