It is ten years since the JayBee factory closed its doors so we
are organising a reunion for all past employees with a Golden Oldies
Disco on Friday, April 16 in Tul Na Ri Carndonagh. Anyone with old
photos can they please pass them on to Mary Brick, John Gibbons,
James McLaughlin (fildara) or Susan Diver, or leave them in the
JayBee factory shop. All monies raised will go to the Alzheimer’s
Unit and Carndonagh Hospice ward. Tickets are €10 each which
includes a buffet. So if you worked in JayBee we would love to see

Culdaff Drama Group have kindly agreed to perform their marvellous
comedy play “Johnny’s Britches” by P.J. O’Dea in Clonmany again. So
if you missed it the first time round, this is your last chance to
see it in St Mary’s Hall on Saturday, March 13 at 8pm. Admission is
€8 for adults and €5 for children.
A big thank you to everyone who took part, to all who helped with
refreshments and all who sponsored the swimmers on Christmas Day.
The total amount raised was €5,360 which will be evenly distributed
to the High Dependency Support Unit, Cleagh, and the Children’s Ward
in Letterkenny General Hospital. We look forward to seeing you all
again next year.
The Clonmany Festival AGM will take place in the Square Bar on
Monday, March 15 at 9.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and share
their ideas.
The Inishowen GAA Board is hosting a night of Irish Music, Song,
Storytelling and Céili Dancing in An Gríanan Hotel, Burt, on
Tuesday, March 16 with special guest singer/songwriter and
storyteller Danny McGilloway. There will also be performances form
various musicians, singers and dancers from the Burt, Buncrana,
Muff, Moville, Carndonagh, Malin and Urris GAA Clubs. Doors open at
10.00 pm and admission is only €5 which includes supper.
The Federation of Irish Beekeepers invite all beekeepers to a
seminar on beekeeping entitled ‘Getting the most out of your bees’
on Sunday March 21 in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey at 2pm sharp.
Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Further information is

The Aware Depression Support Group will be meeting in the Pastoral
Centre, Carndonagh on Monday March 15 at 7.30pm. New faces are

Tiernasligo National School are in the final of the AIB Better
Ireland programme and now need votes to win. You can vote online
everyday on
www.betterireland.ie one vote per email address each day or you
can text MOVILLE C to 51303 as often as you wish. Standard charges
apply for texts. Voting runs from February 15 until March 15. Please
vote and help us win the top prize of €5,000 for our school.
Tiernasligo N.S. Enrolment forms are now available in the school for
those starting school in September. Contact the school on 9376359 if

A Charity Dance to raise funds for the people of Haiti will be held
in the Ballyliffin Hotel on Friday, March 19. Proceeds raised by the
Dance will be used to aid the re-housing of those impacted hardest
by the recent earthquake. Music on the night will be by Mick Flavin
and dancing will run from 10.00pm until 2.00am.
Clonmany Community Centre: Gymnastics and disco dancing for girls
and boys every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6.00pm. Circuit Training
continues on Monday and Wednesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.15pm. Uni-hoc
also continues on Thursday evenings from 8pm - 9pm. Hall for hire is
available for birthday parties and other groups. Just contact the
Centre.The Community Centre also offers the following services;
photocopying, binding, faxing, typing, emailing etc. For information
on any of the above, or about any activity in the Centre feel free

The Keg Golf Society’s next outing
is to Rosapenna Golf Club - Sandy Hills Course is on Sunday, March
21 at midday. Golf and meal is €40. Anyone interested in the bus

The numbers drawn in the Clonmany Shamrocks Lotto on March 1 were 4,
17, 22 and 23, there was no Jackpot winner and this has now risen to
€900. The €20 consolation prizes went to Dessie Doherty, Cleagh and
Mary Moran McGonigle, Cloontagh.
There was no winner of the Urris Match and Win jackpot drawn on
February 25. The years drawn were 1966, 1976, 1980 and 1982, the
Jackpot has now risen to €1,100, the €15 consolation prizes went to:
Neil McGonigle (Jnr), Roxtown; Leonard Houton, Malin; Neil Grant,
Gortfad; Gerry Doherty, Leenan Keil and Danny Gordon, Isle of Doagh.
Inishowen Rural Transport is now operating a
Friday bus service from the Isle of Doagh to Carndonagh. The service departs from the Isle
at 11am, arriving in Carndonagh at 11.20am and the return departs
Carndonagh at 12.30pm. Contribution €5 return and €3 single, bus
pass holder free. For bookings and information on all our services
