Buncrana cancer patient forced to pay 04.05.07

A Buncrana cancer patient is being forced to pay to travel to Letterkenny for chemotherapy.
Fine Gael election candidate, Joe McHugh said it was "a disgrace" that the 72-year old had to suffer the burden of paying half the cost of travelling to the hospital for life-saving treatment.
"This is a lack of logic or common sense. It should be taken as read that she should not be means tested and should not have to pay half of her transportation costs from Buncrana to Letterkenny.
"That is an anomaly that people are getting very frustrated with. The frustration is becoming fairly palpable on the doorsteps with respect to a lot of anomalies and it is one issue that I will definitely be raising with the HSE."
