McGuinness visits Inishowen 18.05.07

Election candidate, Cllr. Pádraig MacLochlainn has stressed that regional cancer care provision for the North West is Donegal Sinn Fein's "paramount political priority".
The North's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness canvassing with Donegal election candidate, Padraig MacLochlainn in Bridie Doherty's shop in Carn. Cllr. MacLochlainn continued his canvass of Inishowen yesterday accompanied by his party colleague, the North's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness.
They visited Forward Emphasis in Malin, Carndonagh, Buncrana and Seatem, Lisfannon, before continuing on to meet voters in other parts of the Donegal North East constituency.
"Martin McGuinness' commitment to place the issue of North West regional cancer care provision as a political priority in the new Six County Executive is a major step forward for Donegal," said Cllr. MacLochlainn.
He said an all-Ireland approach to cancer care provision for the North West was "the only way forward".
"We have consistently pledged that regional cancer care provision for the North West - specifically a satellite radiotherapy unit - will be our paramount political priority.

"Relying on the good offices of the North's new Ministers and the continued activism of Sinn Féin's all-Ireland elected representatives, we are determined that we can deliver a first-class regional cancer care service," he said.
