Maltese family's joy with Culdaff home 14.09.07

A MALTESE family have described their joy at finding their perfect holiday home from home in Inishowen.
Alex Tanti has fun with daughter Enya in Culdaff. Alex Tanti and his wife Caroline first contacted InishowenNews.com several months ago and now use it as way of keeping up-to-date with events in the peninsula when they're back on the Mediterranean.
"I first met Caroline on a Maltese beach 20 years ago and it led to our marriage in Moville," said Alex, who explained that his wife's parents are Patrick and Myra Stewart from Prehen,  Derry.
"Initially, I used to work offshore and
Caroline in the tourist industry. Then we worked very hard and aimed firstly for a home in Malta then for one in Ireland."
The couple have two children, son Erin aged 16, who has just finished his O Levels and daughter Enya, 11, who is "struggling away with her Maltese".
While Alex works in the motor industry, Caroline has carved...or rather snipped...out a career for herself as the owner of a Celtic-themed hair salon.
With her catchy motto, "If your hair's not becoming to you...you should be coming to me", she has tapped into a niche customer base of expats, tourists and professionals over the six years of the salon's operation.
The Tantis bought a lovely home in Culdaff around two years ago and try to get back as often as possible.
Caroline Tanti relaxes by the sea in Culdaff.
"In between our busy work/life schedule, we try to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Culdaff and hide away from the persistent hot sunny skies of Malta, which the introduction of Ryanair flights has made more feasible," added Alex.
