Donegal Sinn Féin remove posters in North 17.05.07

Election posters for Sinn Fein's two candidates in Donegal have been removed by the party from traffic signs across the border.
Donegal SF posters at a roundabout in Omagh. Sinn Féin told InishowenNews.com the posters erected in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, were not put up with the party's knowledge and said the incident was the work of zealous supporters.
A Donegal party spokesperson said: "We're led to believe that a couple of Donegal election posters were discovered on the back of a road sign
near Omagh.
"Those posters were not erected by Sinn Féin, but as soon as the incident was brought to the party's attention in Tyrone, steps were taken to remove them because of where they had been placed."
The spokesperson invited people to show their support for the party in other ways.
"There is nothing to stop anyone putting up a poster if they want to, but the problem was where these particular posters were placed.
"The best way for anyone to show support and solidarity for Sinn Féin is
Cllrs. Padraig MacLochlainn and Pearse Doherty adorn the traffic lights in Omagh.
by joining the party and turning out out to vote on May 24," the spokesperson added.
