Michael is top agri student 21.11.11

A MOVILLE agriculture student has come top of his class for his flair in the study of drystock management. Michael Carey received this year's Drystock Management Student of the Year accolade at Kildalton College, Co Kilkenny.
Michael, the son of Robert and Celia, comes from a suckler farm in Bredaghglen, Moville. He is a former student of Carndonagh Community School.
He was one of some 270 graduates who were presented with certificates by Irish Farmers' Journal editor, Matt Dempsey, at last week's graduation ceremony.

A college spokesperson said Michael received his award for "his excellent contribution to the course throughout his year at Kildalton. His practical ability and academic performance together with his positive outlook made him a very popular winner with both staff and his fellow students".
"Courses at Kildalton College allow students to select subject matter which best fits their own home farm enterprises and Michael is currently working on a dairy farm and intends to set up his own farm in the future."
