Buncrana hairdressers make the cut 24.01.11

HAIRDRESSING students from Inishowen were recognised by the North West Regional College recently during the presentation of prizes for this year’s photographic competition.
As part of their advanced studies, Level 3 sstudents are required to design and create styles which are then photographed by a professional fashion photographer. The students must consider not only their creative and technical abilities, but also how their style will be reflected on camera.
In the themed image competition Tara Henderson from Buncrana secured 1st place, with Ciara Barber, also Buncrana, awarded 2nd. Clare O’Connell in 3rd and Susan Duggan winning 4th place. This success follows Tara and Ciara’s outstanding results at the NIHA competition at which Tara claimed first place in the Senior Creative Fantasy competition – against professional stylists from across the province.
