Golden Jubilee gift to African children 15.12.11

CHILDREN in Tanzania are closer to getting a new school thanks to funds raised by people in Moville.
Taobh na Cille residents' group raised some €2,600 through a Golden Jubilee party held in the summer for Sr M Finian Hegarty. About €255 of the total sum was donated through collection boxes at the residential unit.
Sr Finian recently presented a cheque to Apex Housing Association architect, Siobhán Porter, towards the Apex and Children in Crossfire project in Miwaleni, Tanzania.

"So many people bought tickets and made donations towards building up this rural community in Miwaleni, where funds raised will assist local people build a school for young children and purchase school books.
“A thousand thanks to all supporters of Taobh na Cille and to those honouring the Jubilarian for this superb generosity," said Lesley Trott, on behalf of the residents.
