Man shot dead in Buncrana 10.02.12

GARDAÍ in Buncrana are appealing for information after a young man was shot dead in Lisfannon last night.
The victim, Andy Allen (24) suffered fatal injuries when he was shot through the window of his home at Links View about 9.20pm.
The father of two, originally from Top of the Hill in the Waterside, Derry, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body remains there pending the arrival of a State Pathologist. A woman in the house at the time of the shooting was unhurt.
Gardai have sealed off the area for a forensic examination while a second crime scene has been cordoned off in Fahan where a car, believed to have been involved in the incident, was found burnt out.

“The community in Buncrana is shocked and horrified that a man has been shot in our town tonight.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.”
He also appealed to anyone with any information to come forward.
"Anyone who was in the Lisfannon area tonight and may have any information – no matter how small it may seem – should come forward and contact the Gardaí immediately.”
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact the Gardai in Buncrana on 074 93 20540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
