Joanne dishes up excellence for Le Manoir Award 31.01.12

A TRAINEE Buncrana chef is in with a chance of winning a coveted work experience stint at Raymond Blanc's two Michelin star restaurant.
Joanne McCallion (22) who studies at the NW Regional College in Derry will now compete against five other college winners across the North to scoop two weeks' work placement at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxford. The lucky trainee chef will also get a bursary of £300 towards travel costs.

Joanne recently impressed judges with her "complex and ambitious" three course menu including trio of seafood, smoked fillet of beef and chocolate panacotta, chocolate fudge brownie, brandy snap and cherry sorbet with a pistachio cream and cherry milkshake. Joanne is now hoping to be the overall winner of the michelin placement.
Raymond Blanc is well known from his BBC series Kitchen Secrets as well as having mentored some of today's finest chefs.
