TRAINEES aboard the winning Round the World Race
Gold Coast Clipper as it prepared to leave the Foyle
Pontoon in Derry this morning. The candidates will
undertake three days of Royal Yachting
Association-accredited training along with crew
members. The course is part of the legacy of the
hugely successful Clipper Homecoming Festival in the
city earlier this year. Included, from left, are
sponsors Geraldine O’Hara, Kick Start to Work
programme, Leeanne Thompson, Foyle Lough’s Agency,
Paul Bryson, Foyle Port and Mayor of Derry, Cllr
Kevin Campbell. Clipper Ventures will host an open
day in early December for participants interested in
