Tickets for 1992 charity ball selling well 25.07.12

TICKETS for next month’s charity ball being organised by Donegal’s All-Ireland winning footballers of 1992 to mark the 20th anniversary of their achievement are in big demand.
Speaking this week, Donal Reid, who was right half back on the 1992 Donegal team and who is one of the organisers of the ball, said there’s big interest in the event.
“There’s been a great response since we held the official launch in the Finn Valley Centre last month,” he said.
“Because of the charity element, a lot of people are keen to lend their support to the ball. The three charities who will benefit are the Donegal Hospice, Donegal Living Links and the Alzheimer Society Donegal branch – three groups who do much for people at a local level and three groups that need constant financial support,” Donal added.
“The fact that Donegal retained the Ulster title for the first time in the county’s history has given the entire county a huge left, and Jim McGuinness and his players will go into next month’s quarter-final at Croke Park with a huge degree of confidence. We are hoping that Donegal will be getting ready for an All-Ireland semi-final appearance when the ball takes place,” he said.
The ball will be held in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town, on Saturday, August 18, with retired RTE commentator, Michael O Muircheartaigh and Charlie Collins of Highland Radio acting as MCs. Sam Maguire will also be there while supporters will have an opportunity to meet the 1992 team in the afternoon, also in the Abbey Hotel.
Tickets for the ball, priced €25, are now available from the following outlets – Supervalu, Buncrana; Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town; Supervalu, Killybegs; Divers Newsagents, Ardara; Books and Charts, Dungloe and the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny.
