Donegal Rás team announced 14.05.12

DONEGAL'S team of four for the An Post Rás has been announced as Rory Devlin, Buncrana, Damian Lagan, Clonmany, Shaun Stewart, Letterkenny and guest rider Ódhran Connors from Dublin.
The 2012 Rás gets underway on Sunday, May 20, in Dunboyne Co.Meath.
The Donegal LK Bikes team competing in the Rás are now ready for the challenge following months of hard preparation, training and racing.
As part of their training, members of the squad have already stepped up to compete at international level three and four-day races like Rás Mumhan; Tour of the North and the Tour of Ulster.

The team and support team are managed by Michael Black of Optimal Fitness in Letterkenny.
LK Bikes, Letterkenny, are the main sponsors with local sponsors including the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Ballyliffin Hotel and Inishowen Oil.
Four stages of the gruelling 1200kms race will take place in Donegal its 60th anniversary this year is set to be one of the toughest in Rás history. The Donegal stages of the race are as follows:

Bundoran to Buncrana (149kms): starting Bundoran at 11am and taking in Barnesmore Gap (11.51am); Magherabeg (12.38pm) Burt Post Office (12.55am), Slavary (13.19pm), Old Mountain (13.26pm), Pinch Mountain (13.30pm), Mamore Gap (13.51pm), Old Mountain (13.54pm) and Buncrana (14.06pm).

Buncrana to Killybegs (134kms) leaving Buncrana at 11am: Letterkenny (11.50am); Meenaroy (12.14pm); Fintown (12.26pm); Glenties (12.43pm); Glengesh Pass (13.08pm); Bogagh (13.28pm); Bavin (13.35pm); Killybegs finish (13.48pm)

Donegal to Cootehill (161kms) starting Donegal Town at 11am; Bundoran (11.34am) followed by Rossinver, Co Leitrim (11.59am) and onwards.
