Gardaí seize drugs worth €140K

GARDAÍ and Revenue have seized crystalized drugs in
Letterkenny with a street value of €140,000. The
drugs were discovered in an intelligence-led
operation after they were posted to an address in
the town. Revenue Customs, the Garda National Drugs
Unit and the Letterkenny Drugs Unit were involved in
the raid. Around four kilograms of the drug
4-Methylethcathinone were found in the haul.
4-Methylethcathinone is known as 4MEC and has a
chemically similar make up to Mephedrone. |

The seizure was the
result of a controlled delivery of a package,
originating in China, to an address in Letterkenny.
A 28 year old man was arrested and detained at
Letterkenny Garda Station under the Criminal Justice
(Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. |
