A 24 year old Moville
man has been ordered to make a charity donation
after toppling a rickshaw in Dublin's Harcourt
Terrace.
Robert Kane, St Finian's Park, Moville, admitted the
offence on November 18, last at 3am. The defendant
attended Carndonagh District Court on foot of a
bench warrant on Tuesday after he failed to turn up
at an earlier hearing in Dublin. The local court was
told that he and a work colleague got "very drunk"
after finishing a six-week job in the capital. They
tried to get a lift home to their accommodation but
the rickshaw driver refused. The defendant, who is
currently unemployed, told the court it was his work
mate who knocked over the tourist vehicle. Judge
Paul Kelly told him he would escape conviction if he
paid €100 to the St Vincent de Paul Society by April
