Appeal to help local children at Christmas 18.11.13

THE Donegal County Childcare 'Presents for Percy Appeal' is back for Christmas 2013.
The team has launched the appeal for a third year to help local families in need of a little help with meeting Santa requests for their children.
The appeal aims to collect a range of toys for children 0-14 years across the county in time for December 25.
Percy sorts out details of his 2013 appeal.
DCCC manager Avril McMonagle said the appeal was "a practical way" of making a contribution to Donegal children and families in need of a little extra support at Christmas.
"We have enlisted the help of a number of family support agencies to act as distributors of donations to the Presents for Percy Appeal. Not only will this make a valuable contribution to the work of local agencies working with children and families, it will ensure that all donations are targeted to those most in need of support," she said.
Agencies that will distribute donations on behalf of the DCCC Presents for Percy Appeal will include Parentstop, Carndonagh and Letterkenny; Donegal Women’s Domestic Violence Service; St Vincent de Paul and a range of Family Resource Centres across the county.
People can either purchase presents or alternatively you can donate money which will be used to provide vouchers to parents to purchase toys at local Donegal businesses.
Toys purchased in Smyths, Letterkenny can be left in the store for collection by the Presents for Percy team or alternatively toy and money donations can be left at the Donegal County Childcare Office, Lettereknny. Closing date for all toy and money donation is Friday 6th December 2013.
