Mary and PJ get ice-bucket ducking 25.08.14

GREENCASTLE brother and sister Mary McLaughlin and PJ Barr got more than they bargained for when they were nominated at the weekend for the ice bucket challenge.
Living so near a fishing village, Mary's husband Joe had no problem sourcing a big fishbox full of icy water to duck them with two buckets of water.
Mary and PJ get a good ducking in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Mum of four Mary in turn nominated the staff of Colmcille Creche while dad-of-two PJ nominated Kevin O'Sullivan, Maurice McCauley and Darren Bredin.
The ice-bucket challenge in Ireland has so far raised more than €350,000 for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).
PJ takes the brunt of this drenching.
Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive neurological condition that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
There are currently over 310 people living with MND in Ireland. It is often referred to as the 1,000 day disease as most people die within 1,000 days of being diagnosed. To donate €2 text MND to 50300.
