Festival fever continues with DylanFest in Moville 24.08.15

FESTIVAL fever continues in Moville this week with the ninth annual DylanFest on the Lough.
Organiser Gerry McLaughlin said the music festival, which began in 2007, had now become the biggest festival of Bob Dylan music in Europe attracting top tribute acts and fans from all over the world.
"We have had acts from Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Scotland and Wales and I was surprised to be told by acts who have played at the other DylanFest that ours is the biggest, despite being held in a small town in Donegal," said Gerry.
"We had a guy who flew over from Cleveland, USA for it just for a few days and he had the biggest smile on his face all weekend. He said it had been his dream for many years to come."
Among those playing again this year is Al Diesan from Sardinia in Italy, who takes three planes to get here and another three back.
He goes to those extraordinary lengths to play the festival not least because he revealed that he gets a "spine-tingling" stadium crowd atmosphere every time he plays Moville.
Bobby Does Dylan.
Also appearing will be Bobby Does Dylan, aka Robert Harrison, the UK’s top Dylan tribute act. Gerry said Bob Dylan once asked to meet Harrison after seeing a YouTube video of one of his performances. Other acts taking part include locals Shaun Hiboy; Paddy McLaughlin as well as Derry's Dylanites.
There will also be busking on the streets. DylanFest takes place in five venues over four days from Thursday, August 27 - Sunday, August 30, 2015. Check out all the acts on the music trail at Rosato's; the Redcastle Hotel; The Clock; Annie's Bar and the Caiseal Mara Hotel.
