Fort Dunree hosts 29 Inishowen artists 09.07.15

MEMBERS of an Inishowen art collective based in the wonderful setting of Fort Dunree are to launch a new exhibition of their works next week.
Artlink says the creation of their membership system has offered invaluable support to locally-based visual artists who might otherwise find themselves working alone.
"The work of an artist can often be a solitary activity. Working as part of an artist collective generates opportunities spreads knowledge, ideas and can also have a subconscious influnce on an artists practice," said spokesperson Rebecca Strain.
"By fostering an atmosphere of creativity, allows the artist freedom of expression and encourages the production of new art work. This atmosphere in turn infiltrates the wider community."
The theme of their collection is carried through in their new exhibition 'Artlink Members Annual Exhibition; Mark 1'.
