The challenging Inish 100 mile route was also popular with locals and visitors to the peninsula. The day proved to be a huge success in spite of several punctures and the odd spot of sunburn for some.
A spokesperson said the success was due to a "great team" who supported Inish CC in many ways throughout the day.
"Thanks to Supervalu Buncrana and the Ballyliffen Hotel who facilitated our water/food stops. As did Philomena O'Brien at the Wee Hall , Culdaff. Paddy Gillespie ,Ross Donaghey and Paddy Harkin supported the cyclists from the comfort of their motorbikes, a much needed role.
"To all who sponsored refreshments especially Valerie at Caiseal Mara Hotel, Canny & Doherty Supervalu, and Eamonn Gillen & Sons , thank you.
