Survey to explore Donegal's use of energy 04.01.17

DONEGAL County Council is inviting the public to participate in a short survey about their energy use at home and in business.
The survey is part of the €1.8m SECURE Smarter Energy Communities in Northern and Arctic Regions project which is supported by the EU.
The Donegal survey "aims to promote greater use of energy efficient technologies and renewable energy sources and has a particular focus on innovative energy solutions for housing and public infrastructure".

Scheme co-ordinator Paddy Mullen said: “The project is about improving energy efficiency within our communities and to do this we are keen to hear from the public on their own energy consumption, their knowledge on how best to reduce energy costs and what information they need to have in order to make greater energy savings in their own homes and businesses."
He added: "This short survey should take no longer than five minutes to complete and will provide us with valuable information that will help guide us in providing better and clearer information to the public on how to improve energy efficiency and save more on energy costs."
The ERNACT network is the lead partner for the three-year SECURE project with Donegal and Leitrim (Ireland); Derry City & Strabane (UK); Nova Scotia (Canada), Faroe Islands, North Karelia (Finland) and Västernorrland County (Sweden) included in its drive to develop energy-smart communities.
The survey can be completed visiting SECURE Survey .
