Good Causes Awards deadline looms 03.07.18

THE National Lottery today reminded people in Inishowen to get their applications in on behalf of their local sports club, community project or organisation for the inaugural National Lottery Good Causes Awards. The deadline for entries for this competition, which has a total prize pool of €95,000, is less than two weeks away, on Friday 13th July.
This significant new awards initiative will celebrate the extraordinary work being carried out by individuals, organisations and clubs which are making an incredible difference in communities all over Ireland in recent years.
Pictured at the launch of the inaugural National Lottery Good Causes Awards in Dublin Castle was Irish Olympic Hero Marian Heffernan with Dermot Griffin CEO National Lottery, Bobby Kerr Chair of the Judging panel (left) and Aisling Ni Cheallaigh and Sara Granda from Fidget Feet a Limerick-based aerial dance group all of whom benefited from National Lottery funding.
Almost 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games – or over €619,000 per day – goes back to good causes all over the country in the areas of Sports, Arts, Culture, Heritage, Community, Health, Youth and the Irish Language. Last year alone more than €226 million was raised by players of National Lottery games for such good causes.
Applications for the awards are now open and people can enter and check eligibility at www.lottery.ie .
