Donegal Primary School Road Safety Art Competition 05.02.24

THE Road Safety Art competition invites young artists from primary schools in Donegal, to create a piece of art that will raise awareness of how to stay safe on the roads. The theme of the competition this year is 'Pedestrian & Cyclist Road Safety'.

The winning drawing will be displayed at Finn Park (Finn Harps FC) for the 2024 season and at Kernan’s Supermarkets in Newtowncunningham, Drumkeen and Ramelton. There will be individual prizes as well as a special prize for the school of the winning pupil.
 
At the launch of the Donegal Road Safety Working Groups School’s Poster competition in Lurgybrack National School are: L-R Aidan Sweeney, Sales Manager iMotors, Annraoi Cheevers, School Principal, Chris Harley, Donegal County Council Road Safety Officer, Aisling Dignam, Office Manager Finn Harps FC, Kevin McHugh, Head of Academy Finn Harps FC, Amy Harkin McNulty, Marketing iMotors and Stephen McNutt, Community Officer Finn Harps FC.
Chris Harley, Road Safety Officer said, “The Donegal Road Safety Working Group are delighted with the continued efforts of Finn Harps Football Club to help promote greater awareness of the dangers on our roads. Children are among our most vulnerable road users, so we all have a responsibility to make sure they develop good road safety habits at an early age. The Primary School Art Competition Competition will help raise awareness, change behaviour and influence all road users about road safety. Everyone who uses the roads has a role to play in keeping our roads safe”.

The closing date for the competition is Tuesday, 20th February 2024
