Young people take the
lead at Culture Night 2025 in Carndonagh.
SPRAOI agus Spórt will hand the reins to young people
for a special Culture Night celebration in Carndonagh on
Friday, 19th September 2025. Culture Night is an annual,
all-island public event celebrating culture, creativity
and the arts. This is a free of charge programme,
curated, produced, and hosted by local young people,
showcasing their ideas, creativity and energy through
workshops, performances and activities that are open to
all.
The free event is being held from 6pm at Spraoi agus
Spórt’s units at Supervalu Carndonagh, with highlights
that include visual arts workshops, music with an open
mic and live band, digital media creation stations and
lantern making. Visitors can also enjoy a pop-up
Gaeltacht café with tea, coffee, and treats, a 'come try
an instrument' session, and a curated exhibition of
artworks. |

Gaming tournaments, film
and photography booths, and opportunities to explore
digital arts will run alongside live displays from local
artists. The event is free to attend and open to all,
with a particular focus on young people and teens.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. |
