Swilly Ferry Services

INISHOWEN popular ferry
services set sail for summer 2026. Both the Swilly
Ferry, linking Buncrana and Rathmullan, and the Lough
Foyle Ferry service, linking Greencastle and Magilligan,
have returned for their 2026 summer season.
Both services commenced full operations on Friday, 29th
May 2026, providing an important and scenic connection
for local communities, visitors, day trippers and those
travelling throughout the north-west during the busy
summer period. |

The ferry services will
operate seven days a week until mid-September, offering
a convenient alternative route for passengers and
helping to support tourism, local businesses and
regional connectivity on both sides of Lough Swilly and
Lough Foyle.
The crossings remain a popular option each year for
motorists, cyclists and foot passengers alike, while
also giving travellers an opportunity to enjoy some of
the most spectacular coastal scenery in the region.
