Bridge players pay tribute to Jane

BRIDGE fans from all over Inishowen gathered in
Moville recently to play a charity tournament in
memory of the late Jane McCauley. |

Jane, who died in
August 2008, was a founder member of Moville Bridge
Club along with the late Mary Bonner, the late Tony
Meehan and Margaret Casey.
From its beginnings in 1976, the club grew from
strength-to-strength to become one of the
longest-running associations in the peninsula.
Jane's sons, local estate agent Leo and Denis, a GP
in the Stranorlar area, attended the charity event
along with their families. The McCauleys, together
with Moville Bridge Club, afterwards presented
Moville Day Centre with a cheque for €1,100.
Twelve teams of four travelled from all over the
peninsula including Buncrana, Carndonagh and |
Greencastle to take
part in the event held at Moville Day Centre. Leo
said the family were very moved by the occasion.
"It was a lovely gesture for Moville Bridge Club to
hold this night in memory of our late mother. On
behalf of the family, I would like to thank them and
all the players who turned up on the night, for
giving us this opportunity to pay tribute to mum,"
he said. |

The McCauley brothers
also sponsored the supper and beautiful prizes on
the night. First prize was won by Tony McDermott and
Dodo Guckian, second prize went to Ted McQuilkin and
Collette McCool while Dessie Doherty and Paddi Doran
scooped third. |
