McConalogue seeks Dáil nod 16.04.10

DONEGAL Deputy Mayor Cllr Charlie McConalogue announced this week that he is allowing his name go forward for the Inishowen Fianna Fáil Party nomination for the next general election.
Cllr McConalogue recently informed Inishowen Fianna Fáil Comhairle Ceantair members in Buncrana, Cllr McConalogue that he is to let his name go forward to the party selection convention.
“I believe it is important that Inishowen regain a Dáil seat and I think that it is to our disadvantage that we do not have someone who is based in the peninsula currently representing the area in the Dáil," said the Gleneely-based councillor.
“Despite times being difficult, I think that it is important that people are willing to put themselves forward now to work hard for the area and help bring about better times in Inishowen over the next few years. It’s not going to be an easy period but that’s when being involved and contributing in whatever way you can is important,"
Cllr Charlie McConalogue
he added.
He said he was heartened with the encouragement he received within the party.
"I think it is a positive sign for Fianna Fáil that it will have a choice of candidates available when selecting a general election candidate. I will be fully behind whatever decision party members make when the time comes,” he said.
