Gleneely firearm probe: man charged 08.04.10

A man will appear at Buncrana District Court today charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm in Gleneely village in the early hours of Easter Monday.
The man, who is in his 50s with an address in the Gleneely area, was charged on Tuesday night at Buncrana Garda Station.
He appeared at Donegal District Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody to appear at court in Buncrana this morning for a bail hearing.
The charge is related to a fracas between a number of people outside the Orchard Bar, Gleneely, around 12.30am on Bank Holiday Monday.
The scene at Gleneely village sealed off following a fracas in the early hours of Easter Monday.
An incident room has been set up at Buncrana Garda Station to piece together what happened on the night.
Inspector David Kelly yesterday said: "The investigation into this fracas is ongoing and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses to contact us."
Gardai believe the row between a number of people from the North and a number of people who live in the Gleneely area, spilled outside following an altercation between the parties inside the pub earlier.
A side road outside the bar was sealed off for much of Monday as scenes of crime officers examined the area.
