6am Dawn Chorus in Culdaff 29.05.09

LARGE CROWDS are expected on Culdaff beach this Sunday morning when the Inishowen Gospel Choir will perform a spectacular dawn chorus at 6am to for the closing ceremony of the 2009 Bealtaine festival.
What’s to celebrate this unique event, the choir are opening their doors and offering anyone aged 50+ the once in a lifetime opportunity to receive training in a specially designed pre-event workshop on Friday, 29th May, and if they wish, sing along with the choir at The Dawn Chorus itself.
The Inishowen Gospel Choir have performed their glorious life affirming music both nationally and internationally and are guaranteed to lift the spirits of everyone who makes the effort to attend this unique event.
In this 2-hour workshop, led by Siobhan Shiels (MA Jazz, Uni Ulster), the co-director of the IGC, participants will take part in some glorious gospel singing spanning continents and decades from African songs, contemporary popular songs and southern American gospel.
Siobhan has been a music facilitator for over seven years, working with various groups from young to old. An accomplished Jazz vocalist, her workshops are guaranteed to make you smile and want to sing with all your heart. She is a firm believer that everyone can sing you just need to know how to find your own voice!
The workshop will take place in the Inishowen Carnival Offices,

Presented by The Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny in partnership with the national Bealtaine festival and Age & Opportunity, The Dawn Chorus is a once in a lifetime experience that is not to be missed!
