Partnership unveils grant scheme 25.03.09

INISHOWEN Development Partnership (IDP) is calling on groups, organisations and companies in the peninsula to submit their expressions of interest for funding under the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
Over this period, IDP will administer funding on behalf of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs within its Inishowen catchment region. The programme's allocation for 2009 is €285,458.
The main theme of the National Rural Development Programme is "Improving the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of economic activity".
The programme provides funding for a broad range of interests including the diversification into non-agricultural activities; support for business creation and development; encouragement of tourism activities; basic services for the economy and rural population; village renewal and development; conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage and training. programme's objectives, operating guidelines and eligibility criteria, can be considered for Rural Development Programme grant aid," said a Partnership spokesperson. Expression of Interest forms are now available from Inishowen Development Partnership Office, Pound Street, Carndonagh, Inishowen, Co. Donegal. You can also call 93-73083. Closing date for return of Expression of Interest forms is 5pm on Thursday, April 9, 2009.
