Repairs underway on Malin roads 11.03.09

FIANNA Fáil has welcomed the start of major road improvements this week in Malin. County Councillor Dennis McGonagle and local election candidate, Charlie McConalogue, who hopes to succeed him on the Council, said the roadworks being carried out under contract from the local authority will see the resurfacing of roads around the village.
Repairs were needed after the road surfaces were badly damaged during work on the Malin Town sewerage scheme.
"Much necessary work requiring the digging up of road for pipe laying has taken place over the last while and has resulted in a very rough and unsatisfactory road surface in Malin Town," said Cllr McGonagle.
Mr McConalogue said he would now "push hard" to get the required resources allocated by Donegal County Council for repairs to Malin's footpaths.
