TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern will make a farewell visit to Buncrana on Friday, it's been announced.
The outgoing Taoiseach and FF leader, will visit the seaside town to see how work is progressing on the €21 million decentralised social welfare offices and Garda station at Ardaravan.
His upcoming visit was announced yesterday by local Senator Cecilia Keaveney. She said she was delighted Mr. Ahern was returning to the peninsula so close to leaving office on May 6.

Senator Cecilia Keaveney and Taoiseach Bertie Ahern at Burt in 2007 ’“I'm very proud that the Taoiseach has kept Inishowen on his agenda right to the last few days of his tenure. He was more than happy to take up my invitation to visit the new site in Buncrana and has made space in his busy schedule on that day with events between Dublin and Donegal," said Senator Keaveney.
“It also needs to be said that the decision to decentralise to
Buncrana was a hugely important one taken with Bertie Ahern at the helm of the Government.
"We have a very good location and have many positive messages to deliver, which we must do together as one united area. It, linked to the other elements of the project, has the potential to add significantly to the status of Inishowen."
